High Street Newsagents

A national retailer wanted year-round temperature control at a convenience store, with both air conditioning and heating to keep staff productive and encourage prolonged customer visits. We responded by installing heat pump air conditioning cassettes with condensers on an exterior wall, with fast installation during a planned refurbishment ensuring no disruption to trade. The client achieved the result it wanted, helping provide a more effective retail environment. Meanwhile, summer cooling had the added benefit of ensuring fridges and freezers worked at optimum efficiency, so prolonging the equipments’ lifespan.

With a TV company operating a retail outlet selling branded merchandise from its hugely popular shows, the store often became packed with shoppers. To provide comfort cooling and heating for the benefit of staff and customers alike, we installed two Fujitsu heat pump units: one ceiling-suspended to make the best use of limited space, and the other wall-mounted. The store was highly decorated with displays and play areas, so pipework was concealed and the condensers mounted outside on a rear wall. The company was delighted with the outcome, not least by the fact installation was completed overnight with no disruption to trade.

When a Midlands football club decided to open a prestigious new club shop, it wanted to ensure reliable comfort cooling, heating and fresh air flows for customers and staff – so it asked Andrews to work with the architects and builders. For the main retail area, we installed three heat pump cassettes. So the ceiling could support the internal condensers, work included strengthening it with concealed steel platework. External condensers next to one of the stadium’s stands were hidden by a side passage, constructed in conjunction with the builder. The club’s goal was achieved, with complete temperature control provided.

A large Sheffield newsagents and post office wanted reliable cooling in the summer – to create a comfortable environment for customers and staff, that encouraged shoppers to stay, and to prevent confectionery from melting. We recommended and installed three heat pump cassettes in the main sales area, also able to provide heat in the winter, and a wall unit behind the post office counter. Condensers were sited away from public view in a concealed roof area. To minimise disruption, installation was completed over two days. The client achieved its goal and could now ensure a more welcoming retail environment.

For a high street retail and treatment facility in Liverpool, operated by a major podiatric products company, Andrews was asked to design and install a solution to ensure a totally comfortable environment for customers and staff. We provided heat pump units, able to both cool and heat, in five locations including the sales area and treatment rooms. This included a powerful ceiling cassette in the ground floor footwear department and a ducted system in the first floor chiropody centre. To ensure no disruption, work was timed to coincide with a planned refurbishment. The client was happy with the result, and with the more welcoming sales and treatment environment provided.

Britannia

When the Britannia Building Society needed a new air conditioning system to create a comfortable environment for customers and staff in its Ilford branch, they called the experts. We recommended a VRF system, due to limited space for multiple external condensers. The VRF condenser was dismantled, manually handled upstairs and onto the roof, then rebuilt in position. In this way, we provided the Britannia with a fast solution to a problem that would otherwise have been exceptionally difficult and very expensive to solve.
