One of the UK's most luxurious hotels wanted to extend air conditioning into its largest area of bedrooms, a landmark dovecote and other rooms in the 17th century main building. It chose a Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) system from Andrews. This work was part of a half-million pound refurbishment. Each guest has their own simplified controls for the exceptionally quiet and reliable system; indoor air quality has improved (the VRF has advanced filters) while the heat-pump system means economical and flexible heating and cooling for different parts of the venue at the same time.

An exclusive coastal hotel and golfing resort in Ayrshire wanted reliable temperature control in its restaurants and function suites, and Andrews was asked to work to tight time scales. The optimum solution had to be planned, installed and working prior to the British Open golf championships. We provided four powerful but unobtrusive heat pump units, able to provide both heating and cooling, consisting of two cassettes and two ceiling suspended units - to the delight of hotel management, staff and international visitors.

A popular theme bar in Newcastle wanted unobtrusive cooling that didn't detract from the venue's décor, to ensure a welcoming environment. The Andrews design team had to provide a solution that didn’t dilute a gothic style design. We installed ceiling mounted cassette units on the underside of a copper-finish ceiling, painting the units and fascia panels black to blend in, while concealing all pipework. The installation was all but invisible to customers - but they and staff felt the benefits of a more comfortable temperature-controlled venue.

Premier Lodge provides accommodation throughout the UK plus conference facilities and meeting rooms. During the summer, one of its conference rooms became unacceptably warm and needed air conditioning. After a site survey Andrews recommended a 100kW external chiller plus five 20kW internal air handling units - these unobtrusive, extremely quiet units blended into the background. The installation exceeded all client expectations and provided quiet, reliable cooling at several conferences for 200+ people.
